Project Proton
All-in-Two and All-in-One XR Concept
Project Proton is a pair of miniaturized VR concepts focused on lightweight design, exceptional ergonomics, and ease-of-use.
Associate Creative Director
Project Proton explores two miniaturized VR concepts designed around lightweight comfort, intuitive ergonomics, and effortless wearability. Drawing inspiration from stylish eyewear, the goal was to make VR more accessible and inviting—particularly for newcomers.
A dual-hinge design was selected over a traditional halo architecture for its compact footprint and glasses-like familiarity. The design language combined dual front-facing stereoscopic cameras with an expressive, mirrored-sunglass-inspired aesthetic—refined through ergonomic testing and user feedback. The design language resulted in a striking dual-lens aviator style for the All-in-Two, and a sleek visor design with a signature center split for the All-in-One.
The project culminated in two distinct VR devices: the All-in-One (AIO) and the All-in-Two (AIT). Each device incorporates a fabric-wrapped shell, concealing internal components while offering a soft, inviting tactile experience.
AIT: Compact, aviator-inspired viewer with Bluetooth earbuds for flexible, smartphone-powered VR.
AIO: Fully integrated headset with built-in battery, off-ear audio, and balanced fit for immersive sessions.
